Popular cleric, Chukwuemeka Odumeje has sparked reactions online after criticising President Bola Tinubu’s administration and questioning its achievements.
Speaking during a church sermon, Odumeje said he was unable to identify major accomplishments of the government since it came to power, claiming that mainly supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) continue to praise the administration.
“I don’t know the people celebrating Tinubu. Tell me one thing Tinubu has done since he entered government. The only thing I know Tinubu has done is secure APC to remain in charge of Nigeria,” he said.
The cleric also referenced Tinubu’s campaign promise on electricity, alleging that Nigerians were promised improved power supply within the first term.

“Tinubu promised us that once he entered government, give him four years and Nigeria would have 24-hour electricity. If it doesn’t happen, let him not be voted for a second term,” he stated.
Odumeje added that his comments were not based on political loyalty, but on his views about good governance and leadership.
The remarks have drawn mixed reactions, with some Nigerians supporting his criticism while others defended the administration, saying reforms require time before their impact is fully felt.
