The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a 21-year-old man, Samson Onilewaji, for being in possession of a suspected human hand, two locally made pistols, and other incriminating items.

Onilewaji was arrested during a stop-and-search operation, along the Lekki-Epe Expressway.
The arrest was confirmed in a statement issued on Friday by the command’s spokesperson, CSP Abimbola Adebisi.
According to the police, the suspect was travelling in an unregistered commercial shuttle bus with five other passengers, when police officers intercepted the vehicle during a routine security operation.
A search of the bus and its occupants reportedly led to the recovery of a suspected human right hand, two locally made pistols, one live cartridge, two axes, a Point of Sale (POS) terminal, and five ATM cards from Onilewaji.
The police said the suspect confessed during interrogation to recently robbing three people of their belongings, including the recovered POS terminal and ATM cards.

The command added that investigations are ongoing to determine the identity of the owner of the suspected human hand, how the suspect obtained it, and the purpose for which it was allegedly being transported.
Investigators are also working to identify and apprehend other suspected members of the criminal network linked to the suspect.
The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Tijani Fatai, assured residents of the command’s commitment to tackling violent crimes and other criminal activities across the state.
He urged members of the public to remain vigilant and continue providing timely and credible information to security agencies to support crime prevention and public safety.
The police said the suspect would be charged to court upon the conclusion of investigations.
