The Comptroller of Special Duties at the Nigerian Customs Service (NCS) Headquarters, Abuja, Haniel Hadison, has credited the visionary leadership of the Comptroller-General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, for inspiring a culture of excellence that continues to drive the service’s success in sports and core operations.

Hadison made the remarks on Monday, during his visit to the Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, venue of the first phase of the third CGC Volleyball Premier League, shortly after the customs men’s volleyball team recorded a commanding 3-0 victory over UCEM.
The customs side delivered a dominant performance, winning the encounter in straight sets 25-23, 25-19 and 25-23 to maintain their impressive form in the competition.
Speaking after the match, Hadison said the players were inspired by the honour of representing the Nigeria Customs Service under the leadership of the comptroller-general.
“The boys knew they were representing the Nigeria Customs Service under the leadership of the comptroller-general of customs.
“They displayed professionalism, resilience, competence and a high level of capacity throughout the match,” he said.
He noted that the team’s fighting spirit and winning mentality reflect the motivational leadership style of Adeniyi, whose reforms have continued to inspire officers and athletes across the service.
The customs comptroller further praised Adeniyi for repositioning the Nigeria Customs Service into a globally respected institution driven by professionalism and international best practices.

“The comptroller-general has changed the narrative of the Nigeria Customs Service. Customs is now a brand, and everything about the service reflects international standards and global best practices,” Hadison stated.
He also highlighted the achievements recorded under the current administration, including improved revenue generation, increased seizures of smuggled goods and stronger contributions to national security.
According to him, officers of the service remain confident in the Adeniyi’s vision and believe he still has much more to contribute to the continued transformation of the Nigeria Customs Service and the nation.
“He still has so much to offer the service and the nation. We believe there is much more to come from his leadership,” he added.
As the championship progressed, Hadison challenged both the men’s and women’s customs teams to remain focused and maintain their winning momentum.
Describing the comptroller-general as a “master strategist,” he expressed confidence that the customs teams possess the quality and determination required to emerge champions.
“The boys and the ladies should continue on this path and come out on top. Nothing should discourage them because the comptroller-general and the entire management of the Nigeria Customs Service are solidly behind them,” he said.
Fresh from their convincing victory over UCM, the Nigeria Customs Service teams will now turn their attention to the remaining fixtures as they continue their pursuit of the third CGC Volleyball Premier League title.
