The committees were formed in response to concerns arising from recently concluded APC primaries covering National Assembly, State Assembly, governorship and presidential contests.

Committee Composition Across Senatorial Districts

In the Southern Senatorial District, former Minister of Tourism, Culture and National Orientation, Edem Duke, will serve as chairman. Other members include Hon. Ekpo Ekpo Bassey, Sir William Archibong, Prof. Paul Itari, Mrs. Kate Okon and Dr. David Okon, while Engr. Effiong Bassey will act as secretary.

For the Central Senatorial District, Chief Ebuta Ayuk was appointed chairman, working alongside Elder Bolaji Anani, Prof. Anim Ajake, Prof. John Inyang, Chief Barr. George Ekpungu and Prof. Alice Ekwu. Barr. Bassey Okim will serve as secretary.

In the Northern Senatorial District, former Deputy Governor of Cross River State, Larry Odey, will head the committee. Members include Chief Signor Omang Idiege, Chief Tony Udiandeye, Hon. Rita Ayin, Hon. Paddy Ogar and Hon. Maurice Evey, with Barr. Mike Aniah serving as secretary.

Party officials said the committee members were carefully selected to reflect experience, credibility and broad acceptability within the Cross Rivers APC structure.

Reconciliation Drive Ahead of 2027 Politics

The inauguration of all committees has been scheduled for Monday, June 8, 2026, at the APC State Secretariat, beginning at 12 noon.
At the event, members will receive their Terms of Reference, which will guide their reconciliation efforts across the three senatorial districts.

Party leaders expressed confidence that the initiative will strengthen internal democracy, reduce tensions, and deepen cohesion within the Cross Rivers APC following the competitive primaries.
