Rhino Volleyball Club, NAF Rockets, Sword VC and Light Spikers recorded impressive victories on Day 11 of the men’s competition at the 2026 Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) National Division One and Two League, while NY Spikers emerged victorious in a dramatic five-set women’s encounter against the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS).

The matches were played on Wednesday at the Indoor Sports Hall of Package B, Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja, where volleyball clubs, military teams and paramilitary formations from across the country are competing for promotion and championship honours.
The championship, which commenced on May 23, was originally scheduled to end on June 5 but has been extended until June 7 following a two-day break for the Eid-el-Kabir (Sallah) celebration.
Organisers have described the tournament as an important avenue for talent discovery, player development and the continued growth of volleyball across Nigeria.
In the men’s category, Rhino VC delivered one of the standout performances of the day, defeating Adamawa Volleyball Club 3-1 in a fiercely contested encounter. Rhino edged the opening set 25-23 before Adamawa responded with a 25-21 victory in the second set. Rhino, however, regained control by dominating the third set 25-12 and wrapped up the match with a 25-18 win in the fourth set.
NAF Rockets also displayed resilience in their clash against Nigeria Immigration Service, recovering from a first-set loss to claim a 3-1 victory. NIS took the opening set 25-17, but the Air Force side bounced back strongly with 25-18 and 25-16 wins in the next two sets before sealing the contest 27-25 in a tense fourth set.

Sword VC maintained their impressive run in the competition with a straight-sets victory over Katsina United. Although the contest remained competitive throughout, Sword VC held their nerve to win 25-21, 25-21 and 27-25, completing a convincing 3-0 sweep.
Light Spikers were equally dominant against Kada Kings, securing another straight-sets victory. Light controlled the match from start to finish, winning 25-20, 25-23 and 25-18 to strengthen their position in the standings.
The women’s category produced one of the most thrilling matches of the day as NY Spikers defeated Nigeria Immigration Service 3-2 in a pulsating five-set encounter. NIS drew first blood with a 25-20 win in the opening set, but NY Spikers responded to take the second set 25-22. NIS regained the advantage with a 25-19 third-set victory before NY Spikers levelled the contest again by winning the fourth set 25-23. The decisive fifth set saw NY Spikers dominate, securing a 15-0 victory to complete a remarkable comeback.
