The Nigeria Volleyball Federation (NVBF) has announced the appointment of new coaches for its senior, age-grade and beach volleyball national teams as part of a strategic effort to strengthen technical development, improve player performance and enhance Nigeria’s competitiveness in international volleyball competitions.

The appointments were disclosed in a statement issued on Thursday, June 4, following what the federation described as a rigorous selection, screening and approval process aimed at identifying qualified professionals capable of driving Nigeria’s volleyball development agenda.
According to the federation, the appointments cover the Senior Men and Women national teams, Under-19 Boys and Girls teams, Under-17 Boys and Girls teams, as well as the men’s and women’s beach volleyball squads.

Senior Men’s National Team Coaching Crew
For the Senior Men’s National Team, Coach Taiwo Oladipupo has been appointed Head Coach.
He will be supported by:
● Coach Twevini Yohanna – Assistant Coach I and Setters Coach
● Coach Jonah Adamu – Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator
Senior Women’s National Team Coaching Crew
The Senior Women’s National Team will be led by Coach Elam Elishama as Head Coach.
Other members of the technical crew include:
● Coach Segun Abinde – Assistant Coach I and Offensive Coordinator
● Coach Sunday Yunana Akapson – Setters Trainer
Under-19 Boys Team Appointments
The Under-19 Boys National Team will be managed by:
● Coach Adamu Nite – Head Coach

● Coach Philip Stephen – Setters Trainer
Under-19 Girls Team Appointments
For the Under-19 Girls National Team:
● Coach Vincent Unogwu – Head Coach
● Coach Bukola Faremi – Assistant Coach I, Blocking and Defence Coordinator
● Coach Chinyere Onuoha – Assistant Coach II and Offensive Coordinator
Under-17 Girls Team Appointments
The Under-17 Girls National Team technical crew includes:

● Coach Jessica Egwuna – Assistant Coach and Offensive Coordinator

Under-17 Boys Team Appointments
The Under-17 Boys National Team will be led by:

Beach Volleyball Teams Get New Technical Leadership
For Nigeria’s beach volleyball programmes, the federation announced separate coaching teams for the men’s and women’s squads.

NVBF Targets Improved International Performance
The Nigeria Volleyball Federation said the appointments reflect its commitment to establishing a strong technical foundation for volleyball development across all categories while ensuring adequate preparation for upcoming regional, continental and international tournaments.
According to the federation, the newly appointed coaches are expected to bring their expertise, experience and professionalism to their respective teams as Nigeria seeks improved performances on the African and global volleyball stage.
“The Nigeria Volleyball Federation congratulates all the appointed coaches and expresses confidence in their ability to contribute significantly to the development and success of volleyball and beach volleyball in Nigeria,” the statement said.
The federation further reaffirmed its commitment to building a sustainable talent development pathway, nurturing future stars and fostering a culture of excellence that will strengthen Nigeria’s standing in both indoor and beach volleyball.
