A heavily pregnant woman, identified as Alice, has reportedly died after a physical altercation with another woman in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
It was learnt that the incident occurred on May 31, when Alice was involved in a fight with one Grace Kasimu.

According to preliminary police findings, the deceased developed complications shortly after the altercation and began bleeding profusely. She was rushed to Wuse General Hospital for medical attention but was confirmed dead by medical personnel on arrival.
Confirming the incident on Monday, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, SP Josephine Adeh, said the suspect had been arrested and was currently in police custody.

Adeh stated that investigations were ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the woman’s death and establish any criminal liability.
She added that the Commissioner of Police had directed that the case be transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for a thorough investigation and further necessary action.
The police spokesperson assured that the command would ensure a diligent probe into the matter and that anyone found culpable would be brought to justice in accordance with the law.
