The Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone 3 headquarters, Yola, Akinwale Kunle Adeniran, has ordered heightened security deployment across Adamawa and Taraba States, ahead of the Eid-el-Adha celebrations.

The directive was contained in a statement issued on Monday, by the Zonal Police Public Relations Officer, SP Aminu Bashir, on behalf of the assistant inspector-general.
According to the statement, the move is part of efforts to ensure the protection of lives and property during the festive period and aligns with the vision of the Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, to maintain peace and public safety nationwide.
Adeniran directed commissioners of police in Adamawa and Taraba State commands to strengthen surveillance and implement proactive security measures throughout the Sallah celebrations.
He also urged residents to cooperate with security personnel, remain law-abiding, and promptly report suspicious activities to the authorities.

“Security is a collective responsibility,” the AIG said, stressing the need for stronger collaboration between the police and communities to ensure peaceful celebrations.
The police chief felicitated with the Muslim Ummah on the occasion of Eid-el-Adha and the commencement of Dhul-Hijjah, the final month of the Islamic calendar, assuring residents of the readiness of the police to guarantee a safe and hitch-free celebration.
He further called on citizens to use the festive period to promote love, unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence for the progress and prosperity of the country.
