The Adamawa State Police Command has arrested a 20-year-old man suspected to be part of a kidnapping syndicate operating in the state, in what authorities describe as a significant operational breakthrough.
The suspect, Mohammad Kasimu Iliyasu, was apprehended by operatives of the State Intelligence Department (SID) following credible intelligence.
He hails from Doruwa Village in Song Local Government Area.
Police sources said the suspect allegedly confessed to his involvement in a gang responsible for multiple kidnapping incidents across communities in the Song axis.

During interrogation, he reportedly identified five other members of the syndicate, who are said to be armed with two AK-47 rifles and remain at large.
Further investigations revealed that the suspect admitted participating in the abduction of one Alhaji Rabiu Haruna.
The gang allegedly collected a ransom of ₦15 million and two Boxer motorcycles valued at N2.7 million before releasing the victim.
The police said efforts are ongoing to apprehend the fleeing suspects and recover weapons and other items linked to the crimes.
The Commissioner of Police in Adamawa State, Kabir Hassan, reiterated the command’s commitment to intelligence-driven policing and safeguarding lives and property.
He called on residents to support security agencies with timely and credible information.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Suleiman Nguroje,further confirmed that investigations are ongoing.
