Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola has revealed his admiration for title rivals Arsenal, stating that he enjoys watching the Gunners play and often learns from their approach.

Speaking ahead of a crucial Premier League showdown, Guardiola praised Arsenal’s style despite growing criticism over their reliance on set-pieces this season.

“I enjoy watching them. I learn a lot in many things,” Guardiola said, acknowledging the high expectations placed on the North London side by fans and the media.

Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, are chasing a historic league and European double.

The club currently sit six points clear at the top of the table and are preparing for a UEFA Champions League semi-final clash against Atletico Madrid.

However, their recent form has sparked debate. A significant portion of their league goals around 37% have come from set-pieces, while they have struggled in open play, scoring just twice in their last five matches.

Sunday’s high-stakes encounter at the Etihad Stadium could prove decisive in the title race.

Arsenal know that avoiding defeat against second-placed Manchester City would bring them significantly closer to securing their first league title in over two decades.

Despite trailing, Guardiola insisted his side still has a fighting chance but admitted defeat would effectively end their hopes.

“It is six points not a short distance but we have a chance. It depends on our behaviour, and everything will be decided on Sunday,” he said.

The Spaniard also pointed to Arsenal’s long wait for a league title as a powerful motivating factor, suggesting it gives them an emotional edge that City cannot easily counter.

“They have something that makes them unique… that feeling of waiting so long. We cannot compete with that, so we focus on how we play,” he added.

The title race took another twist last weekend when Arsenal suffered a shock home defeat to Bournemouth, allowing City to close the gap after a strong win over Chelsea.

According to Opta projections, Arsenal’s title probability has dipped, while City’s chances have improved setting the stage for a dramatic finish to the season.

With both teams in strong contention and momentum shifting, Sunday’s clash promises to be one of the defining moments of the campaign.
