The Adamawa State Police Command has confirmed the arrest of two young men in connection with the alleged killing of a 25-year-old victim, Friday Isah, in Mubi North Local Government Area.
According to police accounts, the incident occurred in Digil Ward during what was meant to be a festive birthday gathering. Eyewitness reports indicate that an altercation broke out among attendees, escalating into violence. The victim was allegedly stabbed with a knife before the suspects fled the scene.
Security operatives from the Mubi North Divisional Headquarters responded promptly after receiving a distress call.
The victim was rushed to a nearby medical facility in a bid to save his life, but was later pronounced dead by attending medical personnel.
Police authorities identified the suspects as 19-year-old Samson Elisha of Giye Digil and 21-year-old Ayuba Stephen of Dagala Digil—both residents of the same local government area. They are currently in custody as investigations continue.
In an official statement issued by Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, the Police Public Relations Officer, the Command confirmed that efforts are underway to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Commissioner of Police, Kabir Umar Hassan, condemned the act, describing it as both senseless and avoidable. He has ordered the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) to take over the case to ensure a thorough and transparent investigation, as well as the prosecution of those found culpable.
