President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has mourned the killing of soldiers in Borno State, assuring that their sacrifices will not be in vain as the military intensifies operations against insurgents.

In a statement following recent attacks, the President said the Nigerian Armed Forces have sustained coordinated land and air offensives targeting terrorist groups. He noted that several fighters and commanders have been neutralised, adding that renewed attacks by insurgents point to what he described as growing desperation.

“The government will never forget their sacrifices. Their sacrifices will not be in vain,” the President stated, noting that the resolve to end terrorism has been strengthened by the commitment of frontline personnel.

He urged the military high command and troops across all operational theatres to remain resolute, calling for continued service with discipline, courage, and patriotism. The President also reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to improved welfare and provision of necessary equipment for the armed forces.

Tinubu appealed to Nigerians and the media to support ongoing military efforts and avoid actions that could weaken troop morale. He stressed that soldiers defending national security should be regarded as heroes and given full public support.

The President further extended condolences to the government and people of Borno State, assuring continued collaboration to restore peace and achieve lasting victory over insurgency.
