The Chairman of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), FCT Council, Grace Ike, has extended Easter greetings to Christians in the Federal Capital Territory and across Nigeria, calling for renewed hope, sacrifice, and national unity.
In a statement, Ike described the season as a significant moment in the Christian calendar, commemorating the resurrection of Jesus Christ and symbolising victory over death, hope, and redemption.
She noted that Easter serves as a reminder of the enduring values of love, sacrifice, forgiveness, and service to humanity, as exemplified in the life and teachings of Jesus Christ.
According to her, the Lenten season preceding Easter, characterised by fasting, prayer, and acts of charity, reflects the deep spiritual commitment of Christians and reinforces values essential for peaceful coexistence, moral discipline, and compassion in society.
Ike urged Christians, particularly media professionals, to embody these virtues in their daily activities by upholding truth, fairness, and responsibility in the discharge of their duties, while contributing positively to national development.
