The Delta State Police Command has reassured residents of adequate security during the Easter celebrations, announcing the deployment of personnel across key locations in the state.
In a statement released on Friday, the Police Public Relations Officer, SP Bright Edafe, disclosed that extensive security measures have been put in place to ensure a peaceful and smooth festive period.
He explained that officers have been stationed at strategic points, including churches, event venues, major roads, relaxation centres, and other public areas. In addition, specialized units and patrol teams have been mobilized to prevent criminal activities and respond promptly to emergencies.
The Commissioner of Police, Yemi Oyenisi, has also instructed Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and heads of tactical units to step up visibility policing and maintain intelligence-driven operations throughout the holiday.

According to the statement, officers have been urged to remain vigilant and collaborate closely with religious leaders to strengthen security coordination during and after the celebrations.
Oyenisi further emphasized the need for professionalism, urging personnel to treat members of the public with respect and courtesy while carrying out their duties.
Residents were advised to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the nearest police station or through the Command’s communication channels. Parents and guardians were equally encouraged to keep a watchful eye on their children during the festivities.
Reaffirming its dedication to safeguarding lives and property, the Command appealed for public cooperation in sustaining peace and order across the state, while also extending warm Easter wishes to the Christian faithful.
