The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) will on Thursday, April 2, 2026, formally inaugurate its electoral committee and electoral appeals committee as preparations intensify for the federation’s upcoming elections.
The inauguration ceremony is scheduled to take place at the NFF secretariat in Abuja and will be presided over by NFF President, Ibrahim Gusau.
The two committees were constituted during the federation’s extraordinary general assembly held last week in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
A total of 12 members have been appointed across both committees.
The electoral committee will comprise seven members, including a chairperson, vice chairperson, three full members, and two alternates.
Meanwhile, the electoral appeals committee will consist of five members, with three serving as full members and two as alternates.

The electoral committee is tasked with overseeing the entire election process in line with the provisions of the NFF Statutes (March 2026 edition) and the Electoral Code (March 2026).
Its responsibilities include organizing, conducting, and supervising elections during the federation’s Congress.
Those appointed to serve on the committees include, Matthew Burkala, Justice C. J. Aneke; Emmanuel Obafemi; Babagoni Grema; Benjamin Sak; Bature Musa; Prof. Abdulmalik Awwal; Arinze Anughere,Olugbenga Omole; Abayomi Omoyimi,Ayibaye Temedie, and Ayi Ukpayam.
Thursday’s inauguration will officially set both committees in motion ahead of the NFF Executive Committee elections, scheduled to hold in Lafia, Nasarawa State on September 26, 2026.
