World number two Jannik Sinner continued his dominant run on the ATP Tour with a straight-sets victory over Alexander Zverev to book a place in the final of the Miami Open.
The Italian star secured a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) win, marking his seventh consecutive victory over the German and his fourth appearance in the Miami final.
Sinner will now face Jiri Lehecka in Sunday’s championship match.
Sinner, who recently triumphed at Indian Wells, is aiming to claim his second Miami Open title in three years and become the first player since Roger Federer in 2017 to complete the prestigious “Sunshine Double.”
Reflecting on his performance, Sinner described his recent form as exceptional, extending his winning streak in Masters 1000 events to 16 matches, while also maintaining an impressive run of 32 consecutive sets won.
“It has been an incredible swing,” Sinner said. “Today was a very tough encounter. He played some incredible tennis, but I served very well in the crucial moments.”
