The United States Department of the Treasury has announced plans to introduce new dollar notes featuring the signature of President Donald Trump as part of activities marking America’s 250th anniversary.
Officials disclosed that the first batch of $100 bills carrying Trump’s signature, alongside that of Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent, will begin printing in June.
The initiative is tied to commemorating the 250th anniversary of the United States Declaration of Independence, a milestone celebration expected to feature several symbolic national projects.
Despite the change, authorities clarified that the overall design of the currency will remain unchanged.
The key adjustment will be the replacement of the traditional treasurer’s signature with that of the sitting president.

The development marks a significant departure from long-standing practice, as U.S. banknotes have historically borne the signatures of Treasury officials, including past figures such as Janet Yellen.
More denominations are expected to adopt the new signature format in the coming months as part of the broader anniversary rollout.
Officials say the move is intended to serve as a historic tribute, symbolising leadership and national identity during a landmark moment in the country’s history.
