A fast-rising Nigerian music artist, Sabi, has reportedly been shot dead in Lagos State, in a shocking incident that has sent ripples through the entertainment industry.

The singer, born Sabinus Chukwuebuka Nelson Obi, was said to have been attacked on Tuesday night at a hotel where he was staying. According to his younger brother, Kingsley, who spoke to local media, a group of armed men allegedly stormed the premises and opened fire, fatally wounding the artist.

Sabi, an indigene of Anambra State, gained recognition in the early 2010s with his hit single Show Your Style, which became popular within Nigeria’s Afro-pop scene. The track later received a remix featuring fellow artist Oritse Femi, further boosting his profile.

His sudden death has sparked concern among fans and industry stakeholders, adding to growing conversations about safety and security within the country.

More details are expected as authorities continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting.
