Isaacs Kekemeke has been returned as the South-West Zonal Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) following a consensus-based congress held at the Mobolaji Johnson Arena.
The election, conducted through a voice vote, also produced seven other zonal executives, with more than 3,000 delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Osun, Ondo, Ekiti, and Oyo states in attendance.
Those elected alongside Kekemeke include Alfred Aluko as Secretary, Ismail Majaro as Legal Adviser, Lateef Ibirogba as Organising Secretary, Ayobami Afolabi as Publicity Secretary, Yetunde Adesanya as Woman Leader, Daramola Adesuyi as Youth Leader, and Dayo Ishola as representative of Persons Living with Disabilities.
In his acceptance speech, Kekemeke expressed confidence in the party’s continued dominance in the South-West, pledging improved performance and electoral victories in upcoming governorship elections, particularly in Osun, Ekiti, and Oyo states ahead of the 2027 polls.

The congress drew prominent party leaders and governors, including Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun, Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji, and Ondo State Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, among other stakeholders.
Speaking on behalf of the South-West governors, Sanwo-Olu commended the peaceful conduct of the exercise, describing it as evidence of political maturity and unity within the region. He also acknowledged the role of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in ensuring a credible process.
He noted that the congress complied with the provisions of the 2026 Electoral Act and reaffirmed the region’s political strength.
Chairman of the Zonal Congress Committee, Jide Jimoh, also praised the orderly nature of the exercise, saying it reflects the progressive political culture historically associated with the South-West.
Meanwhile, APC National Secretary Ajibola Basiru, represented by the party’s National Youth Leader, Dayo Israel, congratulated the newly elected executives and urged them to work together toward securing electoral victories for the party in 2027.
The congress, attended by statutory delegates including governors, lawmakers, party officials, and former officeholders, was widely viewed as a show of unity and strategic positioning as the APC prepares for future elections in the region.
