The camp of Nigeria’s senior national team, the Super Eagles, is now at full capacity following the arrival of captain Wilfred Ndidi in Antalya on Wednesday ahead of upcoming international friendlies.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) confirmed that all 22 invited players participated in the team’s first training session.

However, the squad will be without defender Calvin Bassey, who has withdrawn due to injury.

Head coach Eric Chelle will now rely on the available squad as he prepares for Friday’s clash against Iran, with a blend of experienced players and emerging talents expected to feature.

Nigeria and Iran have met twice at the senior level, with the Super Eagles recording one win and one draw.

Their last encounter ended goalless at the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Curitiba, while Nigeria secured a 1-0 victory at the Carlsberg Cup in Hong Kong in 1998.

The squad boasts seasoned internationals including Alex Iwobi, Moses Simon, Samuel Chukwueze, and Paul Onuachu, alongside captain Ndidi and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho.

Regular squad members such as Ademola Lookman, Maduka Okoye, Frank Onyeka, and Raphael Onyedika are also included.

Meanwhile, new entrants like defender Emmanuel Fernandez and forwards Collins Yira Sor and Philip Otele will be aiming to make their mark.

The Super Eagles will face Iran’s national team on Friday at 4 pm local time (2 pm Nigeria time), before taking on Jordan on March 31 at 8 pm local time (6 pm Nigeria time).

Coach Chelle is expected to use both fixtures to fine-tune tactics and assess player combinations as Nigeria continues preparations for future competitive engagements.
