Family announces burial of late Odira Nwobu in Anambra

The family of the late actor Odira Nwobu, also known as Joseph Olonlo, has shared details regarding his burial following his passing in South Africa.

As stated by the family, the burial will hold on April 11, 2026, at No. 3 Eziudo Street, Umubelle Village in Awka, Anambra State.

Odira Nwobu died on Monday, November 24, 2025, in Benoni, near Johannesburg, South Africa, at the age of 43.

He was discovered in his hotel room struggling to breathe.

While initial reports indicated high blood pressure as a possible cause, his team later referred to his unexpected death as “mysterious” after an autopsy was conducted.

Family members remembered him as a dedicated family man whose absence will be deeply felt by all who knew him.

Friends, family, and supporters are invited to gather to pay their final respects as burial preparations are underway.

A post shared on his Instagram, along with the burial announcement, stated: “The family of the late Mr. Odira Nwobu, also known as Joseph Olonlo, announces the burial date of their beloved brother, son, father, and uncle, which will take place on April 11, 2026, at No. 3 Eziudo Street, Umubelle Village, Awka, Anambra State.

“If you truly loved and miss Odira Nwobu, please join us on April 11.
