A social media post has gone viral showing a purported supporter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) stranded in Owerri, Imo State, claiming she was left without the promised campaign incentives after travelling from Lagos to campaign for President Bola Tinubu.
In the widely circulated video and messages, the woman, identified as a city-based volunteer, said she made the journey at the behest of local coordinators linked to the City Boy Movement, an APC-affiliated campaign group.
She alleged that the coordinators had promised campaign materials, including generators, freezers, and cash empowerment, which were never delivered.
“Seyi Tinubu, I came all the way from Lagos to Owerri to campaign for your father, President Tinubu, and I didn’t receive any freezer or generator. You promised us money too and I didn’t receive anything.
I need compensation. I don’t have money to return to Lagos,” the supporter pleaded in her post.
The incident has sparked a flurry of discussions on social media, with many Nigerians questioning the management and oversight of campaign activities by political parties.

Some commentators accused local coordinators of exploiting grassroots supporters for political gain without honoring commitments.
Others criticized what they described as the monetization of political mobilization, where volunteers are allegedly promised rewards in exchange for their campaign efforts.
APC campaign offices in Imo State have not publicly responded to the claims.
Observers note that if verified, the case could raise concerns about accountability within campaign structures, especially in mobilizing supporters across state lines.
Meanwhile, online communities are mobilizing to assist the stranded supporter, with some users offering transport fare back to Lagos and others calling on APC campaign authorities to address the reported neglect.
