A non-governmental organisation, Titi Oluwadare and Associates (TOA), has partnered several firms within and outside Nigeria to boost employment generation and development through a series of projects in Akwa Ibom State.
The organisation recently rallied the companies to converge in Uyo, the state capital, where a number of nemoranda of understanding were signed with relevant agencies.
The agreements are expected to pave the way for the construction of hotels, schools, companies and other infrastructure projects, using indigenous contractors and locally sourced materials.
According to the management of TOA, the initiative is aimed at promoting grassroots development in communities where the projects will be implemented.
Global President of the group, Titi Oluwadare, gave the directive virtually during the 2026 southern partners summit held in Uyo.
She stressed the importance of quality project delivery and the use of local resources.
Oluwadare explained that sourcing materials and contractors locally would not only encourage harmony within host communities but also stimulate economic growth and create a ripple effect of opportunities.
She noted that the strategy has already become the organisation’s operational standard in other states and countries where it operates.
She also emphasised that partners must maintain a physical presence in any state where they intend to execute projects.
“Every partner needs to have a physical presence and a registered office in any state where they are going to have their project.
Our partners must also use local contractors, and their contractors have to agree with TOA on ground,” she said.
“We believe that when we create jobs and opportunities while spending money within the state, it helps the state to develop.
These conditions apply in every state where we operate to ensure local content, community growth and measurable impact.”
Oluwadare further disclosed that the organisation plans to launch smart city projects next year in Abuja, Lagos and Akwa Ibom.

She commended TOA Africa Representative, Paul Dowells; TOA Adviser and immediate past Vice Chancellor of the University of Uyo, Prof. Nyaudoh Ndaeyo; and former Deputy Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Valerie Ebe, for their commitment to advancing the organisation’s activities in the state.
Providing further insight into the initiative, Dowells said the group had already inaugurated a project implementation committee.
He added that the summit was organised to bring together partners from Southern Nigeria to unveil their complementary projects.
“We have numerous projects and TOA cannot handle them alone,” Dowells explained.
“Our partners have the financial capacity to execute the projects assigned to them, while we guarantee their implementation.The summit was designed to facilitate that collaboration.”
