The Adamawa State House of Assembly on Monday confirmed three commissioner nominees submitted by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri.
The nominees are Sali Idris from Maiha Local Government Area, Muhammed Suleiman from Mubi North Local Government Area, and Chubado Mohammed from Jada Local Government Area.
Their confirmation followed a screening exercise conducted during the plenary session presided over by the Speaker of the House, Bathiya Wesley.
The motion for their confirmation was moved by the Majority Leader, Kate Raymond Mamuno, representing Demsa Constituency, and seconded by the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa, representing Jada Mbulo Constituency.
After the confirmation, the speaker directed the clerk of the House to communicate the resolution of the Assembly to Governor Fintiri.
Earlier during the screening, the Deputy Speaker, Mohammed Buba Jidjiwa, while speaking on the nominee from Jada Local Government Area, commended Gov. Fintiri for nominating Chubado Mohammed.
Jidjiwa described the nominee as a seasoned administrator with extensive experience in the federal civil service, noting that he had made significant contributions to the development of society, particularly within the Ganye Chiefdom.

He expressed confidence that Chubado’s appointment as commissioner would add value to the state’s executive council and benefit the people of Adamawa State.
Similarly, lawmakers representing Mubi North and Mubi South constituencies, Paul Samuel and Yohanna Sahabo Jauro, commended the nomination of Muhammed Suleiman when he appeared before the House for screening.
They described Suleiman as a competent professional capable of contributing meaningfully to the development of the state if appointed to the cabinet.
The plenary session ended with the formal confirmation of the three nominees by the assembly.
