The Nigeria Police Force has announced the commencement of physical and credential screening for applicants seeking recruitment as General Duty and Specialist Police Constables in the Federal Capital Territory.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, signed by the Police Public Relations Officer of the FCT Command, Josephine Adeh, said the screening exercise will run from March 9 to April 18, 2026, at the Command Headquarters in Garki II, Abuja.
The Command explained that the exercise follows the deployment of officers by the Inspector-General of Police to conduct screening nationwide, covering all states of the federation and the FCT.

According to the statement, only applicants who successfully completed the online application process are eligible to participate. Candidates are required to appear on the dates assigned to their respective states.
Applicants are expected to present the following documents during the screening: Evidence of physical and mental fitness issued by a government-recognised medical hospital; Originals and photocopies of Certificate of Origin signed by the Local Government Chairman or Secretary; Originals and photocopies of National Identity Card or NIN slip; Originals and photocopies of O’Level results; Birth Certificate or Declaration of Age; Printout of application form; Completed Guarantor’s Form and Invitation slip
The Command stated that the screening will be conducted strictly on merit and in line with established standards of professionalism and transparency.
It also warned that the recruitment process is free of charge and urged members of the public to report any individual or group demanding money or other forms of gratification in connection with the exercise.
