Stakeholders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State have expressed satisfaction over the peaceful and consensus-driven state congress held on March 3, 2026, at the Cenotaph, Asaba, which produced a new state executive committee led by Solomon Arenyeka as chairman.

Former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, described the exercise as the freest, safest and most united congress he had witnessed in the state.

He commended the inclusive leadership style of Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, noting that it created an atmosphere of cooperation and consensus within the party.

Elumelu said the newly elected executives have a clear mandate to unite members across the state, strengthen party structures and work towards delivering victories for the party at all levels in the 2027 general elections, while sustaining peace and stability.

In his reaction, the Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, applauded the peaceful and inclusive nature of the congress, describing it as one of the best conducted in the country, particularly in states that recently experienced political realignments.

He emphasized that the consensus process reflects fairness and maturity within the party and urged members to put aside any lingering divisions.

According to him, there should no longer be distinctions between “old” and “new” APC members in Delta State, stressing that the party must move forward as one united family.

Chairman of Oshimili South Local Government Area, Obi Ezeiyeli, said the large turnout at the event demonstrated the strength and unity of the party at the grassroots.

He noted that the impressive participation showed that party structures remain intact and that members are fully mobilized.

Similarly, the Oshimili North Local Government Area Chairman, Innocent Esewezie, described the calibre of individuals elected into the state executive committee as experienced and capable.

He commended the peaceful conduct of the congress, stating that it reflected unity and political maturity within the party in the state.

Esewezie urged the new executives to remain committed, accessible and focused on grassroots engagement, stressing that preparation for the 2027 general elections must begin immediately through strategic planning and collective effort.

An APC stakeholder, Olorogun Fred Majemite, also praised the consensus arrangement and peaceful atmosphere that characterized the congress, expressing optimism that the new leadership would reposition the party for greater success.

In the same vein, Christabel Obiuwevbi, Director of the Delta Labour Agency (DLA), commended party members for their discipline and unity throughout the process, describing the outcome as a positive development for the party’s future in Delta State.
