The Commissioner for Works and Energy Development in Adamawa State, Adamu Atiku Abubakar, has formally resigned his position after serving two successful terms in office.
In a press statement released on Monday, the former commissioner expressed deep appreciation to the Governor of the state, Ahmadu Fintiri, for what he described as the rare privilege and confidence bestowed upon him to serve in a strategic role overseeing infrastructure and energy development.
Abubakar characterized his tenure as an honour of immense significance, pledging continued loyalty and support to the administration’s developmental agenda even after stepping down from office.
He also conveyed heartfelt gratitude to his father for providing moral support and blessings throughout his time in public service.

The former commissioner commended the permanent secretaries of the ministries of works and energy, as well as directors, engineers, and staff members, for their professionalism, resilience, and dedication to advancing infrastructure across the state.
In a statement signed by his Administrative Personal Assistant and Media Team Lead, Abdulaziz Jauro, Abubakar emphasized that his resignation does not signal the end of his commitment to public service.
Rather, he described it as the beginning of new avenues for developmental collaboration, reaffirming his readiness to contribute meaningfully to the growth, unity, and continued progress of Adamawa State.
