Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, on Monday, paid a condolence visit to the family of the late former Deputy Governor of the state, Benjamin Elue, at his country home in Obior, Aniocha North Local Government Area.
The governor was received by the widow of the deceased, Mrs. Esther Elue, family elders, and political associates who gathered to mourn the octogenarian statesman.
Speaking during the visit, Gov. Oborevwori described Elue’s passing as a painful loss to Delta State and the nation at large.
He said the late former deputy governor would be sorely missed for his exemplary conduct both in and out of public office.
According to the governor, Elue lived a simple and disciplined life, distinguishing himself through humility and integrity while serving in government and even after leaving office.

Responding on behalf of the family, Elder Paul Oseji expressed gratitude to the governor and his entourage for the visit.
He also commended the Delta State government for the support extended to their late patriarch before his demise.
In a similar tribute, former Minority Leader of the House of Representatives, Ndudi Elumelu, described the late Elue as a father figure and a selfless leader who did not amass wealth for personal gain while in office.
Elumelu noted that Elue’s modest lifestyle and dedication to service earned him widespread respect, adding that he was widely regarded as one of the best deputy governors the country had produced.
The condolence visit drew several political stakeholders and community leaders who paid glowing tributes to the late statesman, reflecting on his contributions to the growth and stability of Delta State.
