Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has annulled 485 land allocations made by the area councils, citing their failure to meet official verification standards and confirming that many of the applications were fraudulent.
The decision was announced in a public notice issued by the Departments of Land Administration and the Abuja Geographic Information Systems (AGIS) within the Federal Capital Territory Administration, which alerted affected applicants and the public about the situation.
The notice indicated that the minister had authorized the cancellation of applications that did not pass the necessary official checks for authenticity and were verified as fake.
It also mentioned that the annulled applications would be removed from the regularization database managed by the FCTA’s Departments of Land Administration and AGIS.
The notice, which includes the names, file numbers, layouts, and area councils of all affected applicants, serves as a formal warning to those involved.

“This is to inform the general public, particularly applicants who submitted area council land documents for regularization, that the minister of the Federal Capital Territory has approved the nullification or cancellation of applications that failed the necessary official checks for genuineness and have been confirmed to be fake,” the notice said.
The publication also mentioned that the action is “without prejudice to further notices and/or publications.”
The affected documents are spread across various districts and satellite towns within the FCT.
In the Bwari Area Council, the layouts affected include the Ushafa Village expansion scheme, Ushafa Extension, and Dawaki Extension 1.
In the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), the cancelled documents encompass Kurudu-Jikwoyi Relocation, Kurudu Commercial, Karu Village Extension, Nyanya Phase IV Extension, Jikwoyi Residential, Sabon Lugbe, and Lugbe I Extension.
