The traditional ruler of the Agamo community in Akure North Local Government Area of Ondo State, Oba Kehinde Falodun, has reportedly been kidnapped and killed by suspected bandits.
It was gathered that the traditional ruler was murdered on Wednesday evening while resisting an attempt by the gunmen to abduct him.
The spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, Jimoh Abayomi, confirmed the incident, stating that the monarch was pronounced dead at the scene.
According to the police, a community leader, High Chief Ajewole Clement of New Town, Itaogbolu, alerted authorities at about 7:50 p.m. that approximately six armed men had invaded the royal residence and taken the traditional ruler away.

“The victim was later found with gunshot wounds and was confirmed dead at the scene,” Abayomi said.
He added that security operatives, including tactical police teams, local hunters, Amotekun personnel, and members of the Atuluse security group, have launched a manhunt for the perpetrators, combing nearby bushes and surrounding communities.
The police assured residents that efforts are ongoing to apprehend those responsible and to strengthen security in the area to prevent further incidents.
