The Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency has announced that the sexual assault case involving TikTok user Mirabel (@mirab351), who alleged she was raped by a stranger in her apartment, has been handed over to the Ogun State authorities.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the agency noted that they had successfully reached out to a close friend of the survivor, who confirmed that she had been released from the hospital.
The incident has generated significant concern online, trending with the hashtag #StopRapingWomen on X (formerly Twitter), as thousands have called for immediate action against sexual assault and enhanced protection for survivors.
“Following our previous statement and the public’s strong reaction, we managed to communicate with a close friend of the survivor who confirmed her discharge from the hospital.

“We are grateful to the public for providing valuable information through our direct messages, and to everyone who tagged the Agency to facilitate a prompt response,” the agency stated.
The alleged assault reportedly took place on Sunday, February 15, with the survivor sharing details of the incident the following day.
The Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency clarified that the event occurred in Ogun State, which is outside their jurisdiction.
