Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has stated that President Bola Tinubu will not again intervene the ongoing political dispute in Rivers State involving him and Governor Siminalayi Fubara.
Wike made the remarks on Tuesday while addressing journalists after inspecting several infrastructure projects in the FCT, days after the Tinubu facilitated another reconciliation meeting between the warring parties at the Presidential Villa in Abuja.
According to the former Rivers State governor, Tinubu’s involvement was driven by his role as a leader and statesman, but such interventions should not be treated as a recurring solution to political disagreements.

“The president has shown exceptional concern for Rivers State. When there is tension between the legislature and the governor, it is natural for him, as a father figure, to step in and seek peace,” Wike said.
He noted that the president had intervened more than once in the crisis and expressed confidence that the latest effort would bring lasting resolution.
“This is the second time Mr. President has intervened. By God’s grace, this should be the final time. I have directed members of the assembly to respect the president’s position, and I am confident they will comply. I sincerely believe we shoul not be hearing about this issue again,” he added.
