The Oyo State Police Command has busted a suspected drug den in Ibadan, the state capital, seizing large quantities of hard drugs.
Police sources said operatives stormed an apartment, along Abanise Street, Academy area, Olomi, following information that the premises was being used to stockpile drugs by one Oluwadamilare Adedayo.
A search of the apartment and its surroundings led to the recovery of nine bags of dried leaves suspected to be Indian hemp, 101 wraps of suspected Canadian loud, and other hard drugs.

The exhibits were immediately secured, effectively disrupting what police described as a suspected drug distribution network in the area.
However, the suspect was not found at the scene.
The Commissioner of Police in Oyo State, Femi Haruna, has ordered intensive surveillance and a coordinated manhunt to track down and arrest Adedayo, who investigators believe concealed the drugs ahead of the police raid.
He further praised the collaboration with sister security agencies and community stakeholders, whose cooperation reportedly played a key role in the success of the operation.
The police said the drug bust reflects the command’s proactive approach to curbing the circulation of illicit drugs, which it described as a major driver of violent crimes and other criminal activities in the state.
It urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to provide timely and credible information, stressing that security is a shared responsibility.
