The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismantled an armed robbery syndicate, recovering several stolen vehicles and household items in connection with a recent robbery incident in the Jikwoyi area of Abuja.
Police sources said the operation followed a robbery carried out on January 18, 2026, when armed men invaded a residence in Jikwoyi and made away with personal belongings, an undisclosed amount of cash, and a Toyota Corolla bearing registration number KUJ 549 CW.
Following a formal complaint, operatives of the command’s Scorpion Squad commenced an intelligence-led investigation. This culminated in the arrest of the suspects on January 26, 2026, at a hideout in Nasarawa State, where they were reportedly planning another robbery targeting Asokoro, one of Abuja’s high-brow districts.
The suspects arrested were identified as Mohammed Yanusa (21), Abubakar Mohammed (20), Isah Salihu (18), Nura Zakare (20), John Paul Itodo (62), Augustin Daudu (30), Musbau Ali (32), Innocent Omale (44) and Usman Mohammed (22).
Items recovered from the gang include four television sets, nine laptops of different brands, two generators, two solar batteries, a pumping machine, a DJ mixer, four club lights, a speaker, 70 bottles of wine, a GOtv decoder, a knife, a cooking gas cylinder, and an LG home theatre system.

The police said efforts were ongoing to track down and arrest the receivers of the stolen vehicles, adding that the suspects would be charged to court once investigations are concluded.
