They were accompanied by the UN Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator, Mr. Mohamed Malick Fall, and the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bernard Doro.

Speaking with journalists after the tour, Mr. Fall commended Gov. Zulum for what he described as the impressive infrastructure and social sector development in the state, despite years of insecurity.
He noted that, beyond the frequent security-related headlines, significant transformative projects were taking place across Borno State.
According to him, initiatives in education, girl-child education, vocational training, and malnutrition treatment centres demonstrated deliberate efforts by the state government to improve the living conditions of its people.
Mr. Fall further stated that the level of investment in education reflects the governor’s understanding of the root causes of the crisis, stressing that quality education for children remains critical to long-term peace and development.
Also speaking, the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, Bernard Doro, expressed satisfaction with the level of development he observed during the visit.
He said that despite over a decade of conflict in the state, Gov. Zulum has shown strong leadership through the establishment of vocational training centres, comprehensive schools, and other facilities designed to equip residents with skills and lift them out of poverty.
