Fenerbahce has accused Al-Ittihad after Kante’s transfer fell apart.
The Turkish club earlier stated that they had fulfilled their obligations regarding the transfer, which involved Moroccan striker Youssef En-Nesyri moving in the opposite direction, and that agreements had been made with the players involved.
Fenerbahce also mentioned that “the players’ medical examinations” had been completed and they had met their “obligations fully and punctually.”
“However, due to the opposing club’s incorrect entry of the relevant transfer matching system information, the transactions could not be finalized within the transfer registration period, independent of our club,” they continued.
Fenerbahce indicated that they requested an extension to finalize the deal and engaged in discussions with FIFA, stating that “all necessary steps were taken to resolve the issue.”
“Despite this, the opposing club has not completed the transactions without providing us with any justification,” Fenerbahce added.

“As a result of these developments, the transfer process unfortunately could not be completed.”
Attempts to reach Al-Ittihad for a response were unsuccessful.
French striker Karim Benzema left Al-Ittihad to join rival Saudi Pro League team Al-Hilal on Tuesday, and it seemed that En-Nesyri could have been his replacement.
Kante, 34, joined Al-Ittihad from Chelsea in 2023 after winning the Champions League, Premier League, Europa League, and FA Cup with the Blues.
He also played a key role in helping Leicester City win the Premier League in the 2015-16 season.
