Inter Milan moved eight points clear at the top of Serie A with a 2-0 victory over Cremonese on Sunday, although the match was briefly overshadowed by a flare incident involving goalkeeper Emil Audero.
Lautaro Martinez and Piotr Zielinski struck in the first half as Inter dominated the contest to reach 55 points from 23 games, eight ahead of city rivals AC Milan, who have a game in hand.
Cremonese remain 16th with 23 points, six above the relegation zone.
Inter opened the scoring in the 16th minute when Martinez headed Federico Dimarco’s corner into the net.

Play was halted early in the second half after a flare thrown from the away end landed near Audero.
The goalkeeper was not injured and the match resumed after a brief delay.
Inter have now won 10 of their last 11 league matches, while Cremonese are winless in eight Serie A games.
