Ifunanya Nwangene‘s brother has shared the tragic story of how his talented sister passed away.
Emy Kaybaba, Nanyah’s brother, revealed that she called him at 8:30 am on Saturday, January 31, to inform him that she had been sleeping when she felt pain and woke up to find a snake.
She quickly applied a tourniquet to stop the venom from spreading.
He mentioned that she told him she was going to the hospital on her own, and he stayed on the phone with her throughout the ordeal.
The first hospital in Lugbe, Abuja, informed her that they did not have anti-venom, so she proceeded to another hospital where, despite her protests, the staff removed the tourniquet.
Emy Kaybaba said he remained on the line with her as she explained that the hospital staff had taken off the tourniquet and were administering an IV.
When she expressed concern about their action, they told her to calm down.
He noted that at that moment, his sister began to struggle to speak, prompting him to end the call just as their uncle arrived at the hospital to support Nanyah.

Her condition rapidly worsened, and she passed away just minutes later.
Kaybaba accused the hospital of negligence while mourning his sister.
He stated that the hospital is now claiming she was not coherent upon arrival, which he refuted as false, insisting that she had entered the hospital on her own and was speaking clearly to him on the phone.
He mentioned that she even sent him a video showing the hospital administering the IV, which he shared while continuing to criticize the hospital.
