Nollywood actress and singer Angela Okorie is still being held at the Suleja Correctional Facility, even though she has reportedly fulfilled the bail conditions set by the court.

On Friday, the Federal High Court in Abuja granted her bail of ₦5 million, requiring one surety of the same amount, who must be a Level 13 civil servant.

Self-proclaimed human rights activist Stanley Ontop provided an update on Instagram, explaining the reason for her continued detention.

He stated, that “Angela Okorie’s bail application has been processed, but by the time we finished, it was already late.”

He mentioned that her bail was secured thanks to the efforts of various activists and public figures, including Omoyele Sowore, Mama Pee, and Randy Peter.

Despite meeting the court’s stipulations, Angela Okorie remains in custody, which has raised concerns and sparked discussions on social media.

Stanley Ontop reassured the public, saying, “We have met all her bail conditions. She will be out of Suleja prison by Monday.”

Following this update, many Nigerians expressed confusion and frustration over the delay in her release, while others called for more transparency in the process.

Some social media users praised the activists and celebrities who advocated for her.

According to Stanley Ontop, the delay was due to the bail process being completed late on Friday, but he assured that Angela Okorie would be free by Monday.
