Nigeria is poised to celebrate more Grammy Award winners tomorrow, Sunday, as five Nigerian artists nominated for the 2026 Grammy Awards could emerge victorious.

The 68th Grammy Awards will take place on Sunday, February 1, 2026, at the Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles, with Nigerian performers competing in major categories, further highlighting the country’s impact on the global music scene.

Burna Boy leads the nominations with two nods: one for Best African Music Performance for his song “Love” and another for Best Global Music Album for No Sign of Weakness, reinforcing his status as one of Africa’s most reliable Grammy contenders.

Davido is back in the Grammy spotlight with his track “With You,” featuring Omah Lay, which has earned a nomination in the Best African Music Performance category.

Ayra Starr also received a Grammy nomination for her song “Gimme Dat,” featuring Wizkid, which is nominated in the same Best African Music Performance category.

Omah Lay rounds out the nominations with his contribution to Davido’s “With You,” marking a significant achievement for the artist.

In a groundbreaking moment, Afrobeat legend Fela Anikulapo-Kuti will be honored posthumously with a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, making him the first African artist to receive this accolade.

The award will be presented during the Special Merit Awards Ceremony on Saturday, January 31, 2026, alongside other global icons such as Whitney Houston, Chaka Khan, Cher, and Paul Simon.
