The Chairman of Isoko South Local Government Area of Delta State, Warri Ovoke Friday has flagged off the measles–rubella vaccination campaign, aimed at safeguarding children against preventable diseases and promoting a healthier future for all.
Friday, who attended the program at Odoro Primary School in Oleh, the administrative headquarters of the local government, said the exercise is for children aged nine months to 14 years
During the launch, the council chairman noted the life-saving essence of the vaccine.
He urged parents to cooperate with health officials to ensure the success of the week-long intensive vaccination drive.
“if we’re not ready to leave with deformity, we must take up the vaccine. The government is not collecting money for this vaccine. Kindly take advantage of this opportunity. With the help of our partners, this vaccine is free.

“Our beloved parents, note if we fail to take up this opportunity, it might affect our children’s health tomorrow. Let’s take up the advantage,” he said.
The council boss concluded by thanking the various partners for their support and prayed for the success of the exercise in the ocal government area.
Earlier Lurant Onieba the local government health promoting officer, said the critical immunisation programme targets children aged nine months to 14 years, and also includes routine immunisation for children aged 0–23 months and HPV vaccination for nine-year-old girls.
