Edo State Governor, Senator Monday Okpebholo, has approved a minor cabinet reshuffle aimed at strengthening governance, improving service delivery, and enhancing administrative efficiency across the state.
The reshuffle, announced on Thursday, involves strategic redeployments within the Edo State Executive Council to better align responsibilities with the administration’s development goals.
Under the changes, Barrister Vincent Osas Uwadiae, Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, has been redeployed to the Ministry of Lands and Housing as Commissioner. Hon. Yakubu Oshiorenua Musa, who previously served as Commissioner for Lands and Housing, has been appointed Chief of Staff to the Governor. Meanwhile, Hon. Gani Audu, until now Chief of Staff, has been nominated to return as Commissioner for Oil and Gas Resources, subject to confirmation by the Edo State House of Assembly.

The Secretary to the State Government, Umar Musa Ikhilor, Esq., disclosed that the changes will take effect from January 30, 2026.
“His Excellency expresses confidence that these strategic adjustments will further enhance coordination, policy implementation, and effective governance in Edo State,” Ikhilor said.
Governor Okpebholo, who assumed office on November 12, 2024, following the tenure of former Governor Godwin Obaseki, has continued to implement measures aimed at strengthening institutional performance and delivering on his administration’s development agenda.
