The Civil Liberties Organization (CLO) has commended Police Area Commander in Onitsha, ACP Chidi Nzota, for his professionalism, intelligence, wisdom, and tactfulness in handling protests over Onitsha Main Market closure.
The Chairman, CLO Anambra State Branch, Comrade Vincent Ezekwueme, gave the commendation on Thursday in Enugu while evaluating security situation before, during and after the recent protest over closure of the Main Market, Onitsha.

According to Ezekwueme, when a good leader is in power, people rejoice; and it was evident that traders rejoiced at Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Nzota’s arrival, calming the situation.
“His approach, accompanying protesters and using a carrot and stick method, earned citizens’ respect and love.
“CLO notes his fatherly presence contributed to the protest’s peacefulness.
“CLO appeals to Nigeria Police Force officers to emulate ACP Nzota, and urges the Inspector General of Police and Police Service Commission (PSC) to consider promoting him for selfless service.
“We recommend ACP Nzota for a special meritorious award from Anambra State Government,” he said.
