Primate Elijah Ayodele, leader of the INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, has asserted that President Bola Tinubu is contemplating the replacement of Vice President Kashim Shettima ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
In a statement released by his media aide, Osho Oluwatosin, the vocal cleric reiterated his previous warnings about the Muslim-Muslim ticket, emphasizing that this decision is now causing internal strife within the ruling party.
“I cautioned Tinubu about the Muslim-Muslim ticket, but many ignored my advice,” Ayodele remarked.
He warned that a contentious removal of Shettima could significantly harm the party, as the vice president might not support its political agenda if treated unjustly.
“If Shettima is removed in a hostile manner, he will oppose the party’s interests because they are considering appointing a governor to take his place,” he cautioned.
Ayodele further acknowledged that while Tinubu is making strides in governance, there are unseen forces working against his administration.

He pointed out that betrayal from within Tinubu’s close circle and external pressures are significant challenges the president faces, particularly regarding security issues.
“Regarding insecurity, no matter what security measures you implement, the US is not in favor of your government, and they know how to undermine it,” he stated.
As the 2027 election approaches, these remarks have heightened discussions about Tinubu’s political strategies, party loyalty, and the future of the current vice president.
Primate Ayodele also warned Tinubu against choosing any of the governors who recently joined the party, especially from the northern region, cautioning that such a decision could lead to serious repercussions.
