Delta State Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori, has congratulated the Ovie of Idjerhe Kingdom, Obukowho Monday Whiskey (Udurhie I), as he marks his 60th birthday and fifth coronation anniversary on Sunday, January 18, 2026.
Gov. Oborevwori in a congratulatory message signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Festus Ahon, described the twin celebration as a remarkable milestone that reflects 60 years of birth and five years of purposeful, stable and people-oriented traditional leadership in Idjerhe Kingdom.
He noted that the anniversary provides an opportunity to reflect on the monarch’s contributions to the preservation of cultural values, peaceful coexistence and the overall progress of the kingdom.
Gov. Oborevwori stated that since ascending the throne, Udurhie I has demonstrated exemplary leadership anchored on wisdom, humility and inclusiveness, which has helped to strengthen unity among the people of Idjerhe and promote enduring peace.

He said the peaceful atmosphere enjoyed in the kingdom today is a testament to the monarch’s commitment to dialogue, consensus-building and respect for traditional institutions.
The governor further commended the Idjerhe monarch for his support for development initiatives and his cooperation with government at all levels, noting that such partnership has continued to advance grassroots development and socio-economic growth in the area.
Gov. Oborevwori added that the monarch’s reign has been marked by stability and progress, earning him the respect and admiration of his subjects and well-meaning Deltans.
The governor prayed for God’s continued guidance, good health and longevity for the royal father, wishing him many more years of impactful service on the throne.
