Dangote Cement Plc has rewarded its top distributors and customers with prizes valued at N15 billion as it unveiled plans to expand its cement production capacity to 90 million tonnes by 2030.

The celebration took place at the 2026 Distributors’ Awards Night in Lagos, where the company honoured its highest-performing partners under the theme “Partner for Growth.” The event recognised distributors whose loyalty, resilience, and strong market performance have sustained Dangote Cement’s dominance across Nigeria and other African markets.

Winners at the ceremony went home with a wide range of rewards, including substantial cash prizes, containers of cement, luxury SUVs, and compressed natural gas-powered trucks. The total value of the awards stood at N15 billion, underscoring the company’s commitment to strengthening its distribution network.

Speaking at the event, President and Chief Executive of Dangote Industries Limited, Aliko Dangote, described the distributors as the backbone of the business, noting that their daily engagement with customers translates corporate strategy into real impact across communities.

He said the awards night was not just a celebration of past achievements but a clear signal that the company’s growth drive for 2026 had already commenced. According to him, the theme “Partner for Growth” reflects the shared ambition between Dangote Cement and its distributors to expand market reach and deepen customer trust.

Dangote also restated the company’s Vision 2030 strategy, which aims to transform Dangote Group into a 100 billion dollar enterprise by the end of the decade. He explained that the plan is anchored on aggressive industrial expansion, increased cross-border investments, and building Africa’s self-sufficiency in critical sectors such as energy, manufacturing, and infrastructure.

As part of this long-term vision, Dangote revealed that the Dangote Cement Group is targeting a production capacity of about 90 million tonnes by 2030. He said the ambition goes beyond factory expansion, stressing that the broader goal is to build Africa’s industrial capacity and reduce dependence on imports.

Under Vision 2030, Dangote Industries has also announced plans to expand its petroleum refinery from 650,000 barrels per day to 1.4 million barrels per day, increase fertiliser production capacity to 12 million metric tonnes per annum, and scale up output at its polypropylene plant.

Highlighting the scale of the cement expansion, Dangote noted that reaching 90 million tonnes would place the company’s output at about 50 percent higher than the entire cement production of Saudi Arabia, reinforcing Dangote Cement’s position as Africa’s largest cement producer.

He described Vision 2030 as a core part of the group’s Africa First agenda, driven by the belief that the continent’s future must be shaped by Africans willing to challenge limits, pursue bold ideas, and commit to long-term development.

The awards night ended with renewed optimism among distributors, many of whom described the recognition as a strong motivation to deepen their partnership with Dangote Cement and support the company’s ambitious expansion plans across Africa.
