The Mazi Matthew Chima Amadi’s media support group has said that his recent declaration to contest the 2027 governorship in Imo state will liberate the state if given the mandate.

The group also stated that Amadi’s ambition will bring a viable vision for the state and even development.

The media group was reacting to a publication credited to Dr. Reginald Amadi, carried on the front cover page of Weekend Announcer of Friday, January 9, 2026 a leading local Tabloid newspaper based in Owerri with the headline,” Reginald Amadi Bombs Chima Amadi’.

In the said publication, the media group dismissed Reginald Amadi’s claims that Chima Amadi is a ‘Talkative and he is Engaging on mission impossible,’ saying he should disclose what he has done in Imo state before.

It challenged Reginald Amadi to point out any tangible time the present Administration led by Senator Hope Uzodinma has done in Imo state since he came to power 6 years ago rather than wasting the state’s resources.

Warning Reginald Amadi to desist from attacking a God sent Messiah who has a good clean track record locally and abroad.

This was contained in a statement issued on Wednesday by Kenneth lbe, Chairman and Casmir Akunna, Secretary and made available to journalists in Owerri.

Chima Amadi, a Philanthropist and billionaire tech entrepreneur, had on December 31, 2025 officially joined the Action people’s party(APP) ahead of the 2027 off- circle governorship election in Imo state.

Amadi warned that those planning to manipulate the results of the Imo State governorship election should have a rethink as they will be resisted.

The governorship hopeful stated that the state has faced the highest level of deception and hardship for the past six years, saying that corruption, self-aggrandisement, and personal rule have taken the centre stage.

The President and Founder of The MAZI Organisation—a grassroots mass movement— who had earlier disclosed this while declaring to join the Action People’s Party (APP) at his country home in Umuhieze Umuekune community, Ngor Okpala Council Area of Imo State.

The business mogul said he had chosen the Action People’s Party because it is a mass movement with credible people desirous of changing the current ugly narrative of the state in the past six years.

“This party is not a platform for those who are indecisive, selfish persons who are only interested in their own self-aggrandisement. This is a result-oriented platform with values that align with my own values. Why do we want real change? The state has experienced the highest level of deception in the last six years. We have seen the highest level of hardship. Look at the rural roads across the state. Where is the local government allocation?”

He added: “Insecurity has become a way of life in the state. Five local government councils of the state have been deserted by everybody. It has persisted because they are benefitting from it. Yet on election day those deserted places post more votes—is that not incredible? Where are the monies budgeted for education and healthcare? Go round the communities and what you will find are broken facilities because somebody has pocketed the money, and this is what we intend to change. They are like the Egyptians of old, but we will stamp them out in 2027.”

Continuing, “Their only strategy is to write fake results, snatch ballot boxes, but it will not work this time. We have been told that they will produce their successors, but their moon will be eclipsed on that day because they will not have their way. This I can promise you.”

Amadi disclosed that since he made his intentions to contest the governorship polls in 2027 known, the state government has been jittery and has embarked on a campaign of calumny against his person, but they have failed woefully to link his name to any fraudulent activities.

“I don’t have an HND from FUTO; I have five master’s degrees and two PhDs from reputable universities across the world.

They said our party is not registered, which is also a lie to deceive their brainwashed followers.

They are afraid of what we can do. We are going to stamp them out of Douglas House in 2027. I urge all of you to register with the APP, and I promise you that we will protect our votes in 2027.”

Earlier, Prince Uchenna Nnamdi, the National Chairman of the party, welcomed Dr Amadi and members of The MAZI Organisation.

He said Imo State needs salvation from bad governance and that the party is not a platform for unserious people but for those desirous of changing the current ugly narrative in the last six years.

“I am happy to welcome Dr Mathew Chima Amadi to the party. Imo State cannot be left in the hands of political vultures, and we are determined and prepared to march to Government House, and Imo people are waiting.

Dr Amadi is a man of the people, a man of impeccable character, a man of high value and vision, highly educated—not those with forged certificates.

He is our 001 in the state. You now have all the rights and privileges of any other member of the party. Today we hand to you the flag of the party, and it will be hung at Government House soon.”
