Arsenal comfortably beat Portsmouth 4-1 to advance to the fourth round of the FA Cup on Sunday.
Arsenal who fielded a significantly altered lineup with 10 changes had Colby Bishop scoring just three minutes into the match.
However, Arsenal quickly equalized just five minutes later when Christian Norgaard capitalized on a corner, forcing the ball in off Portsmouth’s Andre Dozzell.
This goal calmed the visitors, who then took the lead with another set-piece as Martinelli redirected Noni Madueke’s corner into the net after 25 minutes.
Madueke had an opportunity to extend the lead from the penalty spot after being fouled by Zak Swanson, but the England international missed the target.

Martinelli, who had previously hit the post and squandered another chance in the first half, scored the third goal after Gabriel Jesus delivered a low cross into the box, allowing the Brazilian to tap it in from close range.
He completed his hat-trick with another goal from an Arsenal corner, flicking the ball in from the near post.
A notable moment came when defender Marli Salmon, at just 16 years and 135 days old, became the youngest player to represent the Gunners in the FA Cup.
This season has been a mixed bag for Martinelli, who faced criticism for an incident involving injured Liverpool defender Conor Bradley earlier in the week.
