Former National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and immediate past Governor of Kano State, Dr. Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, has returned to Nigeria after several weeks on vacation in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Dr. Ganduje arrived at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos, on Saturday at about 4:30 p.m. aboard an Emirates Airline flight and was scheduled to proceed to Abuja.
Following his return, the former APC national chairman is expected to commence a series of consultations and stakeholders’ meetings centred on recent political developments in Kano State. The engagements are aimed at reviewing the evolving political landscape and consulting widely with party leaders and other critical stakeholders.
A statement issued by his Chief of Staff, Malam Muhammad Garba, said the consultations would focus on strengthening party cohesion and fostering inclusive dialogue within the APC, particularly in Kano State.

The statement also disclosed that Dr. Ganduje would participate in the ongoing APC nationwide electronic membership registration (e-registration) exercise. According to the statement, the former governor remains committed to the consolidation of democratic practices within the APC through the strengthening of party structures and sustained engagement with stakeholders.
Dr. Ganduje’s return and planned consultations come amid heightened political activities in Kano state resulting from governor Abba Yusuf’s plan defection to the APC.
