Unidentified persons have vandalised cables at the dental clinic of the Taraba State Specialist Hospital in Jalingo, the state capital.
The Commissioner for Health, Dr. Buma Bodiya, confirmed the incident on Tuesday in Jalingo, describing it as unfortunate and condemnable.
Dr. Bodiya stated that the vandals removed cables and other electrical wiring from the dental clinic, a facility established as part of the state government’s efforts to enhance oral healthcare services for residents.
He noted that such acts of vandalism undermine the state government’s commitment to expanding access to quality healthcare across the state.
“The incident has been reported to the police, while investigations are ongoing to apprehend those responsible,” the commissioner said.

He called on community leaders, stakeholders, and members of the public to support the state government by safeguarding public infrastructure and ensuring uninterrupted healthcare delivery.
He also applauded the swift response of security operatives and reassured the public that services at the dental clinic would be restored as soon as possible.
